Game Economy Designer

Duties

  • Develop game features that monetize and engage players;
  • Optimize monetization based on player feedback and metrics;
  • Collect and analyze game metrics and propose necessary changes and improvements;
  • Write design documents and present them to the team and executives;
  • Determine and iterate on new sources of possible monetization;
  • Work closely with the development team to bring new features into the game;
  • Work with the franchise team to discover new ways to monetize a franchise;
  • Any other relevant tasks.

Experience and qualifications

  • University or college diploma in game design, or equivalent training, (diploma in Economics is an asset);
  • 3 years and more of experience in the video game industry as an Economic Game Designer;
  • Good Knowledge of Game Designs and what makes a game fun;
  • Good Mathematic and analytics skills;
  • Understanding of consumer psychology and pricing strategies;

Interpersonal Qualities

  • Excellent communication skills and able to easily illustrate his ideas;
  • Able to work on multiple tasks;
  • Able to collaborate with other departments (design, art, animation, narrative, progs., management, etc.);
  • Be at ease in a team driven by constant improvements;
  • Capable of quick-learning, and to share what he learned with others;
  • Be professional to give and receive constructive feedback.
